I set this concept of The Tempest in 1830's Western Europe. To heighten the magical aspect of the island, I designed the courtier costumes to reflect aspects of the island and ocean after the storm. I drew my inspiration for the fantastical creatures in the play from the ocean, nature, and the art of William Blake.
